About the GA P.A.T.H. Program

P.A.T.H. ("Providing Access to The Halls")

Time commitment

This is a seven (7) month program designed to INTRODUCE or FURTHER understand the work of professional lobbyists here in the State of Georgia.  We meet monthly as a group and there are outside homework assignments required to complete the program.


Class Outline (Subject to change at discretion of Program Manager)

  • August- Meet and Greet with graduates and professional mentors; APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED
  • September- Incoming class chosen
  • October- Fees DUE; Getting to Know Each Other, Expectations & Overview of Program
  • November- Workshop No. 1: Ethics
  • December- Workshop No. 2: The Legislative Process- How It Works; Scavenger Hunt at the Capitol
  • January- Workshop No. 3: Advocacy in Action
  • February- Workshop No. 4: "Making Your Pitch"
  • March- OPEN CLASS [Class chooses] 
  • April- "Expo" Class [open to guests and recap of program]
  • End of April- Celebration /Graduation Ceremony with "Mentor of the Year" awardee


Who Should Apply?

This program is ideal for MPAs, JDs, those looking to make a career change or those that want to just learn more about professional lobbying within the state of Georgia.


Benefits of Program

Each class member is assigned a personal professional mentor to interact with and learn the world of lobbying within the State. You also are assigned to team members to foster networking opportunities and to grow as class members in the lobbying program. (Hear directly from graduates with this video series)


When Are Applications Open?

Applications open August of each year. The class size is dependent on the number of professional mentors that we have to make sure there is a 1 to 1 mentorship ratio. The process is a competitive process.


Fees

The cost of the program is set in the summer but ranges between $600-$750 per person for the entirety of the program.
